Retail Construction Project for Hey Dude

In the retail industry, the aesthetics and functionality of a store are vital to its success. A well-designed space enhances the customer experience, reflects the brand’s identity, and drives sales. Omega Contracting was entrusted with transforming a retail space into a dynamic and welcoming Hey Dude branded store.

To achieve this, Omega began by replacing the existing flooring to align with Hey Dude’s brand standards, ensuring a cohesive look and feel throughout the store. Wall blocking was installed to provide support for heavy fixtures, followed by the precise installation of custom millwork, which adds a unique touch to the store’s overall design. The walls and ceilings were painted in Hey Dude’s signature colors, reinforcing brand recognition.

Omega expanded the storage room to optimize inventory management, a crucial aspect for any retail operation. The team also installed all necessary boarding and new light fixtures to create an inviting atmosphere that enhances the shopping experience. Finally, a new HVAC system was installed to ensure optimal comfort for both customers and staff. Retail Construction Project for Crocs

At Omega Contracting and Consulting, we understand that every retail space tells a story, and our recent project for Crocs is a testament to that belief. We began demolishing the existing store, clearing the way for a fresh start. New LVP flooring was meticulously installed, providing a sturdy yet stylish foundation for the store’s vibrant atmosphere.

Ceiling tile replacement and the installation of new light fixtures followed, illuminating the space with a welcoming glow. Our skilled team repainted the store with bright, welcoming colors that perfectly represent the Crocs brand.

Essential blocking was installed to support fixtures and displays, and we completed the transformation with custom millwork, adding a touch of craftsmanship to the modern design. Additionally, we replaced the bathroom sink and toilet plumbing, ensuring functionality and comfort for both customers and staff.

Retail Construction of a Kids Museum

Play Street Museum is a vibrant hub for young minds. It blends interactive exhibits and indoor play zones to deliberately foster children’s independence, curiosity, and imaginative spirit.

Omega Contracting transforms these visions into reality. In Severna Park, MD, we brought Play Street Museum to life by demolishing the former Comcast space to its core. Following Play Street’s precise specifications, we crafted an open-ceiling concept and multiple education stations.

Our expert teams tackled every aspect. From removing the old acoustic tile ceiling to trenching and relocating plumbing, installing new electrical systems, and adjusting HVAC ductwork for the open layout, we ensured every detail met Play Street’s standards.

The custom millwork, from cash wraps to playstations, defines Play Street’s unique charm. Highlights like the pottery kiln and custom roof piping captivate kids of all ages.

Barnes & Noble Retail Construction

In the days of Amazon.com, attracting customers to a bookstore can be challenging.  Barnes & Noble introduced its Café several years ago to combat the online booksellers and coffee shops.  Recently, B&N hired Omega Contracting & Consulting to update and remodel the Ellicott City, MD, Barnes & Noble Café, giving it a new look.

T-Mobile Tenant Improvement

International telecommunications company T-Mobile tapped Omega Contracting to renovate 12 stores in the Mid-Atlantic Area. Working with the T-Mobile corporate design team, Omega demoed the existing store layout down to the white box. Then, it began creating and installing the new layout, flooring, fixtures, and everything necessary for a successful mobile communications store.

Chesapeake Arts Center · Brooklyn Park, Maryland

The renowned Chesapeake Arts Center in Brooklyn Park, Maryland needed tenant improvements and contacted Omega Contracting & Consulting to renovate an underutilized office/storage area into an open planning area.  The goal was to create a new art display studio to mirror as closely as possible the art studio across the hall.

As the project progressed so did the scope of the design and construction which gives us the opportunity to deliver exactly what our client envisions; even if that directive doesn’t initially materialize.  Our goal is to always leave our customers happy with the final results.

Sussex At Kingstowne Apartments · Alexandria, VA

Sussex At Kingstowne Apartments in Alexandria, VA realized their current residents were not using the clubhouse & fitness center to their capacity in its current state which also affected the ability to attract new residents.  To combat this, Sussex tapped Omega Contracting to upgrade their image and renovate the underutilized space and expand their fitness center.  In addition, Omega renovated & upgraded the leasing office, kitchenette, movie theater, and pool area.

The major apartment renovation was to convert the rarely used two-story racquetball court into a multi-story recreation area by constructing a steal beamed subfloor with a staircase and access hallway to the second-floor theater.  This addition gave Sussex At Kingstowne a spin bike room, an additional exercise area, as well as another motivating feature for potential new residents.

The Cottages On Port Republic Apartment Complex · Harrisonburg, Virginia

The Cottages On Port Republic Apartment Complex overlooking James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, tapped Omega Contracting & Consulting for their apartment renovations.  Although Omega was contracted to update the entire Amenity Center, the main project was to create an open concept in their fitness center.  This was accomplished by tearing down the wall between the underutilized movie theater and the yoga studio and removing the yoga studio’s floor.  This dramatic alteration opened up the fitness center which delivered a modern and inviting feel.

In addition to the fitness center construction, the Omega team installed new flooring, paint, trim work, new lighting, and fixtures to the study rooms, business center, and lounge/game area.

Howard University · Washington, DC

Howard University desired a digital sign to display current information in front of the School of Social Work at this historic university.  Omega Contracting and Consulting was contracted to build the masonry stanchions to support the digital sign.

Harborstone Maintenance Shop, Newport News, VA

Harborstone Maintenance Shop in Newport News, VA needed a flooring upgrade.  The flooring was worn with cracks and stains in addition to being hard on employees’ feet and back from the hard concrete surface.  As you can see in this commercial construction project gallery, we installed the new Right-On FiberFlex flooring which is designed to be impact, abrasion, chemical, microbe, water, and thermal resistant…and easier on the feet than concrete.  Plus the 20-year warranty is the best in the business.

Kensington Apartment Home Community, Boulder, Colorado

The Kensington Apartment Home Community in Boulder, Colorado, had a huge safety issue.  The cantilevers supporting the apartment balconies were rotted beyond restoration.   The contract for this apartment renovation was to remove all 163 balconies and reconstruct new balconies using columns and corbels for structural support.  In addition, we installed new windows, sliding glass doors, railings, trim, and siding that modernized their appearance as seen in this commercial construction project gallery,

When you move 12 1/2 Tons of Cool, you need a highly trained team of HVAC professionals.  Every member of this team has a precise responsibility leading to an extremely coordinated effort.  Precision is critical when a 12 1/2-ton rooftop air conditioning system is suspended 100 feet above your head.

The Township of Emmitsburg, MD in Frederick County needed to renovate their bathhouse and make it ADA Compliant.  Omega Contracting & Consulting won the contract for architectural plans, permits, demolition, and construction as listed below.

As older foundations settle, they can crack and leak. These before and after photos at the Rogers Forge Apartments in Baltimore, MD show the scope of this simple two-day procedure. In this project gallery, we trench around the foundation, apply Master Seal foundation coating, and backfill the trench.

This leasing office remodel is a project takeover at the Villages of Morgan Metro in Landover, MD.  Omega was hired to take over the management of this apartment renovation from another construction company that was over budget and behind schedule by 9 months.  Although there was over 4 months worth of work left to be completed, we came in on budget after just two months.

This Baltimore, MD apartment renovation included over 50 units total.  All bathrooms and kitchens received new appliances, countertops, sinks, tile, laminate flooring, fixtures, and paint.  All living areas received fresh paint, carpet, and fixtures. Capital Expenditures or CAPX work is at the heart of many companies that own multi-dwelling units and is a specialty of Omega Contracting.  We are versed in working with corporate ownership to complete the necessary apartment complex improvements on time and on budget.  The main scope of this project was to repair the commercial roofing on this apartment complex.
